Handling a No Show

Message them at the start time, give it fifteen minutes, then move on and fill the spot. Most no shows are prevented the day before with a confirmation message, a clear address, and a rate that was worth their morning.

That morning, in order

At the start time, send one message in the app. Things happen, and a lot of the time you get a reply saying they are ten minutes out.

Give it about fifteen minutes, then treat the spot as open. Standing your other workers around waiting costs you more than the missing person would have.

Reassign the work first, then fill the spot. Somebody who can start at 9 is still useful on most jobs.

Filling the spot fast

Repost the job for the hours that are left and say it is a same day start. Same day posts get answered quickly by people who are already up and looking.

If you have hired good people before, message them directly. The fastest fill is almost always somebody who has already worked your site.

Preventing most of them

The day before, send a short confirmation. The address, the start time, who they are meeting, and what to bring. Ask them to reply yes.

That single message removes a large share of no shows, because most of them are not people deciding not to come. They are wrong addresses, misread times, and jobs somebody forgot they accepted.

Pay and clarity do the rest

A rate under the local number gets accepted by people who are still looking for something better, and some of them find it. The Daily Pay Finder shows what the work pays where you are.

A vague post does the same thing. When somebody cannot tell what the day involves, your job is the one that gets dropped when another comes along.

Book one more when you cannot run short

If the job genuinely fails without a full crew, hire one extra. A spare day rate is cheaper than a truck that has to come back tomorrow.

It is also worth checking reviews before you hire. Workers here build a track record, and reliability shows up in it.

Afterward

Leave an honest review, good or bad. That record is the thing that makes the next employer's decision easier, and it is the only reason reviews are worth anything.

If somebody no shows repeatedly, report them in the app so it can be looked at. One missed morning is life. A pattern is different.
